Okay I’m pretty sure almost everyone had heard about the app called Remove china apps, before being taken down (on 2 June 2020) from the play store it was number one trending with five-plus million downloads
It was taken down by google because Google play store policies doesn’t allow an app to promote the uninstallation of other apps
Anyways before taking down the app, I had installed and tested it on my Xiaomi and Samsung devices and it detected the Chinese apps installed on my phone and asks them to uninstall it
The results look clean, although for some reason it doesn’t detect Xiaomi home and few other native apps on other Chinese OEM phones like MI or Realme devices
The app lacks in few things like it doesn’t detect apps that have investors from China or the apps which raised funds from Chinese companies
Apps like Remove china apps may not available every time but you need to know which apps are Chinese and which aren’t.
Almost after 28 days (29 June 2020) of take down of Remove china apps app, the Indian government officially banned 59 Chinese apps along with Tik Tok and Shareit
With that in mind here’s a list of popular Chinese apps that you Uninstall if you are in India

Chinese apps Alternatives
Replace these Chinese Apps Right Now
TikTok, Helo, Likee
TikTok was previously Musical.ly, where people would upload lip-synch videos.
In 2018, a Chinese tech company, ByteDance, acquired Musical.ly and merged it with its own lip-synching app, known as Douyin. Its end result was TikTok
Currently, 40% of TikTok users are located outside China. India has a particularly large user base and accounts for approximately 25% of app downloads to date.
As of March 2019, the userbase of TikTok in the US was approximately 14 Million.
The best TikTok alternative will be IGTV because Instagram is about to release monetization on IGTV,
IGTV isn't like tiktok but has better content where you can follow your favourite creators who put up mobile-first content in your favourite portrait mode
The Only thing it lacks from tiktok is short 15 seconds to 1 minute video but research shows that those short span videos aren't good for your attention span
Zigazoo app may also become an alternative for TikTok, It was another trending app that has a similar interface like TikTok but the content is made for kids from pre-school to 12th grade
Applock is a wildly popular Chinese app with a lot of privacy issues which asks for 36 plus different permissions including GPS.
It was just too much for an app locking app which locks and unlocks third-party apps
I would recommend using Norton app lock instead, because it asks for fewer permission and most importantly it doesn't ask shady permissions like usage data access
In addition to that Norton app lock is owned by Symantec Corporation which is an us-based company and it provides the same app lock benefits as Applock app
Now before you start thinking Zoom isn't exactly a Chinese app, it's made by ex Cisco employees and is also headquartered in the US
Let me remember that Zoom was recently caught routing data to chinese servers which in my opinion was not fair even after saying video calls are end-to-end encrypted.
For better understanding assume if you are in the United States and you're video calling someone in India there's no business for the video call to be routed by china servers, right?
So considering the privacy major institutions including the Indian government has banned the usage of Zoom app
Google meet app is the most innovative and straight forward alternative for Zoom. For more Zoom alternatives apps watch the video
Last year more than 2 to 3 times, Google had removed ShareIt from playstore for detecting malware in it.
And even the notifications were pretty irritating so, better avoid using ShareIt
ShareIt, Xender Alternatives
If you're on a Xiaomi device you can use the Mi Drop (ShareMe) app which was pre-installed in Xiaomi devices
If you use other then Xiaomi, I recommend Snapdrop.net
It's an open-source ShareIt alternative in which both devices need to open the snapdrop website and drag and drop files to transfer with other devices.
UC Browser app has been removed from the play store for various reasons
It always sends shady notifications and shows you illicit ads and news within the app
UC Browser Alternative
In case you're not using UC Browser well and good, but if you still have it replace it with Brave browser or Google Chrome
Brave is the best option as of now, it provides you a tracker free experience it's the most privacy friendly and safe browser out there
However, the only option it lacks is the sync feature, it can only sync bookmarks between multiple devices but not your history or opened tabs
CamScanner was the most popular and best app for PDF scanning but you have better alternatives, i suggest you replace it right away
All-in-one Office app which lets you quickly scan PDF additionally you can scan pictures and convert them to text or table
It's absolutely free and it is the best all-in-one app as of now.
Another alternative which you can try is google drive it's already installed on your phone just open it and tap on add and it will show you the scan option, upload and you're good to go
ES File Explorer
ES file explorer which has been the go-to file explorer for a lot of android phones until it got sold to ES Global it's not only a dubious Chinese company but also an advertising platform
ES file manager has often been removed from the play store and I suggest not using it.
ES file Explorer Alternative
You can use a safer option like Amaze file explorer, it's open-source provides FTP cloud services like google drive Dropbox and even root file explorer
It also lets you read SQLite files if you have a rooted device and I mostly prefer it due to the simplicity and material design
So that was the list of popular Chinese apps and there alternatives, in case you feel I missed out an app like PUBG, well I was not against any country it's just about privacy and safety.
